NIO House

Nantong, China

The parti design of the Nantong NIO UC store is a simple horizontal line derived from the NIO philosophy of Action (below) & Vision (above). The horizontal line is physically represented by a fitted glass wall which divides the User Center into two separate, yet visually connected spaces for the gallery and clubhouse. Our overall approach to the Nantong UC is to create a visually porous and open space with clear functional boundaries allowing visitors and members to each have clear views of the key brand elements. The terrazzo massings are shaped to frame views back and forth through the fritted glazing, while the distinct esthetic of each space is further defined by the cool white tones of the gallery and warm wood tones of the clubhouse. From the mall entrance, visitors can see through into the clubhouse and are able to consider the meaning of a joyful lifestyle, while from inside the clubhouse lab meeting room members are able to look back out across the gallery to observe the new ES6 and natural daylighting beyond.

The Nantong UC clubhouse features a fun pink Joy Camp for children which adapts the round shape of the band logo into its vaulted ceiling. At the NIO Cafe patrons can take a coffee class at the bar or meet with friends at the community table and lounge. Additionally, the Nantong UC living room is design to into various shapes according to the size of a forum event giving members and the UC team as much flexibility as needed through the seasons. Our ultimate goal in design is to inspire future dreamers and visionaries, the inventors and creators, the ones who will go on and one day fulfill the reality of their own future. When bright sparks are ignited in the minds of the youth, the brighter the light burns toward a better world for all.
